Wilson Audio. Authentic Excellence.

A Perilous World

It's not unusual on Fridays, when Wilson Audio ships the week's production, to find Director of Manufacturing Korbin Vaughn in the shipping department. It's part of the culture at Wilson, where multiple skill sets are encouraged, and people are quick to lend a hand.

But for Korbin, shipping has a personal dimension as well. It's the moment of matriculation for the products he's guided so watchfully through the manufacturing process. Now they're about to leave his care and journey into a perilous world.

That's why every loudspeaker we make, even the smallest, is shipped in a custom-built wooden crate. The interior of the crate is lined with a custom foam product. Unlike styrofoam, which deforms and turns brittle under pressure, our foam remains pliant and retains its shape. Each component is bagged in heavy plastic, and the WilsonGloss™ finish is protected by a thin adhesive film which won't be removed until the speakers are installed in the customer's home. Korbin's job isn't done, after all, until the loudspeaker his team has built so obsessively arrives, safe and sound, in your listening room.

what they're selling. Our only interest is in "authentic value". —Dave Wilson
